I totally disagree with the view that reading newspapers or watching news on the Internet, mobile phones and TV is a waste of time.

        在信息社会之前，人类信息传播的手段非常落后且单一，只能通过报纸和广播在有限的时间内获得有限的新闻。那时侯人们获得的新闻很少，消息的可靠性也很差，人们在获得新闻方面耗费的时间也很少。因此，人们对社会、对世界各个领域的认知也非常贫乏，从而也导致人们精神生活的贫乏。

        人类社会进入信息时代以来，信息技术的飞速发展使得信息传播的手段和速度发生了爆发式的变化。人们除了通过传统的报纸、广播获得新闻以外，还可以通过互联网、手机和电视获得新闻。而且新的信息技术还催生了自媒体的发展，这既增加了新闻传播的途径，也极大地增加了新闻的数量，使新闻的信息量更加丰富和更加全面。人们可以方便快速准确全面地获得来自世界各地的新闻。由于信息量的扩展，人们虽然在获得新闻方面可能花费了更多的时间，但是也极大地开阔了人们的眼界，了解了世界上更多的事情，极大地丰富了人们的精神生活。另外人们也能从获得新闻的过程中得到很多启发，学习很多东西，增长知识，丰富人生。

       基于这种认识，我认为阅读报纸、听广播，通过互联网、手机或电视看新闻并不是浪费时间，而是在不断地学习、充实和提高自己，扩充和丰富自己的生活世界和精神世界。
